Waiting on Wednesday #13

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.
My pick of the week would be The Summer I Became a Nerd by Leah Rae Miller

SUMMARY FROM GOODREADS:
On the outside, seventeen-year-old Madelyne Summers looks like your typical blond cheerleader—perky, popular, and dating the star quarterback. But inside, Maddie spends more time agonizing over what will happen in the next issue of her favorite comic book than planning pep rallies with her squad. That she’s a nerd hiding in a popular girl's body isn’t just unknown, it's anti-known. And she needs to keep it that way.

Summer is the only time Maddie lets her real self out to play, but when she slips up and the adorkable guy behind the local comic shop’s counter uncovers her secret, she’s busted. Before she can shake a pom-pom, Maddie’s whisked into Logan’s world of comic conventions, live-action role-playing, and first-person-shooter video games. And she loves it. But the more she denies who she really is, the deeper her lies become…and the more she risks losing Logan forever.

WHY I CAN’T WAIT

For some reason, stories about ex's appeal to me. And this seems to be interesting. I haven't really read any of the authors books but I'm willing to try. :)

Waiting On Wednesday #11

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

 SUMMARY FROM GOODREADS:

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

Expected Date of Publication: April 9, 2013 by Spencer Hill Press

WHY I CAN’T WAIT

I love this series and I love Jennifer L. Armentrout. Plus, I'm still experiencing Aiden St. Delphi withdrawal because I am so in love with him at the moment. And I just can't wait to see what happens after the events from Deity and Elixir.

Waiting On Wednesday #10

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

 SUMMARY FROM GOODREADS:

Companion to Catching Jordan and Stealing Parker.

Kate has always been the good girl. Too good, according to some people at school—although they have no idea the guilty secret she carries. But this summer, everything is different…

This summer she’s a counselor at Cumberland Creek summer camp, and she wants to put the past behind her. This summer Matt is back as a counselor too. He’s the first guy she ever kissed, and he’s gone from a geeky songwriter who loved The Hardy Boys to a buff lifeguard who loves to flirt…with her.

Kate used to think the world was black and white, right and wrong. Turns out, life isn’t that easy…

Note: Mature themes, sexual situations, religious discussions.

Expected Date of Publication:  March 1, 2013 by Sourcebooks Fire

WHY I CAN’T WAIT

I've read Catching Jordan and I'm currently reading Stealing Parker and for some reason her books make me feel good. It's like one of those feel good books that you just can't help but read and feel happy after. I love her writing style. The fact that she doesn't write annoying female characters is plus for me too. Jordan and Parker from both books are actually feisty and I love that in female characters. And don't get me started on the yummy book boyfriends. Man, she really does know how to create awesome characters. Anyway, I just can't wait to get my hands on this one. Might end up pre-ordering this soon.

Waiting On Wednesday #9

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

My pick of the week would be Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi

 SUMMARY FROM GOODREADS:

Juliette's world is beginning to unravel.
Everything is falling apart changing.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point-the headquarters of the rebel resistance. There she discovers other people with abilities. Abilities they have learned to control. And for the first time in her life, Juliette has hope. Hope that she can have a life with Adam. Hope that her touch can be used to save instead of destroy.

But Juliette is only just beginning to understand the depth of her power, and she's struggling to fight the desire to use it. She's still haunted by her past, terrified by her future, and too tempted by Warner, who still wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart-and Adam's life.

Expected Date of Publication: February 5, 2013 by HarperCollins

WHY I CAN’T WAIT…

Shatter Me is one of my favorite dystopians. I truly loved the world Tahereh Mafi created in Shatter Me and would certainly love to get to know everything and everyone more. And of course, Adam Kent! Do I really need to say more? And I truly believe that this series is just plain AWESOME!

Expected Date of Publication:  FEBRUARY 5, 2013 BY FEIWEL AND FRIENDS

WHY I CAN’T WAIT…

I loved Cinder and I love retellings. And I can't wait to find out what's in store for Cinder and Prince Kai. I also think that this is a unique concept for our favorite fairy tales. I just can't wait for this!

Waiting On Wednesday #7

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.
My pick of the week would be If I Should Die (Revenants #3) by Amy Plum

SUMMARY FROM GOODREADS:

An enthralling and unique paranormal romance, Amy Plum's DIE FOR ME series introduces a new version of the undead with revenants, beings who are fated to sacrifice themselves over and over again to save others' lives.

The final thrilling instalment of Amy Plum's DIE FOR ME series.

I will not lose another person I love. I will not let history repeat itself.

Vincent waited lifetimes to find me, but in an instant our future together was shattered. He was betrayed by someone we both called a friend, and I lost him. Now our enemy is determined to rule over France s immortals, and willing to wage a war to get what they want.

It shouldn t be possible, none of it should be, but this is my reality. I know Vincent is somewhere out there, I know he s not completely gone, and I will do anything to save him.

After what we ve already fought to achieve, a life without Vincent is unimaginable. He once swore to avoid dying - to go against his nature and forsake sacrificing himself for others - so that we could be together. How can I not risk everything to bring my love back to me?

Expected Date of Publication: MAY 1, 2013 BY HARPERTEEN/ LITTLE BROWN BOOK GROUP (AUSTRALIA)

WHY I CAN’T WAIT…

I loved the first two novels in the series. I love Kate. I love Vincent. And I fell in love in Paris. Plus, this is a unique take on the concept of the undead. They're neither zombies, spirits or vampires. How awesome is that? Plus, Amy Plum is just sooooooo nice. I would truly miss the world that Amy Plum built as the series ends but I still can't wait for this to be out.

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY#6

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine. It features each blogger’s most anticipated books.

My pick of the week would be Goddess (Starcrossed #3) by Josephine Angelini

SUMMARY FROM GOODREADS:

After accidentally unleashing the gods from their captivity on Olympus, Helen must find a way to re-imprison them without starting a devastating war. But the gods are angry, and their thirst for blood already has a body count.

To make matters worse, the Oracle reveals that a diabolical Tyrant is lurking among them, which drives a wedge between the once-solid group of friends. As the gods use the Scions against one another, Lucas’s life hangs in the balance. Still unsure whether she loves him or Orion, Helen is forced to make a terrifying decision, for war is coming to her shores.

In Josephine Angelini’s compelling conclusion to the masterfully woven Starcrossed trilogy, a goddess must rise above it all to change a destiny that’s been written in the stars. With worlds built just as fast as they crumble, love and war collide in an all-out battle that will leave no question unanswered and no heart untouched.

Expected Date of Publication: MAY 28, 2013 BY HARPERTEEN/ MACMILLAN (UK)

WHY I CAN’T WAIT…

My love for Greek mythology just knows no bounds. Plus, the fact that I loved the first two books in the series. And the fact that I love Josephine Angelini. She's just so nice. Anyway, the ending of Dreamless is such a doozy and now I need this book. I've been anticipating the last book since I finished reading the second one and I just can't believe that in a few months it would be out and Luca, Helen and Orion's stories would come to an end. Anyway, I just need to have this right now.

PS: I've posted the cover of the UK edition as well since I got the Starcrossed and Dreamless in that edition. And if you're wondering why this is the sixth when you can't find the other five on this blog then you might want to check THIS. Thank you!

My pick of the week would be The Goddess Inheritance (Goddess Test #3) by Aimee Carter

SUMMARY FROM GOODREADS:

Love or life.
Henry or their child.
The end of her family or the end of the world.
Kate must choose.

In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he'll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead.

With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.

Even if it costs her eternity.
Expected Date of Publication: FEBRUARY 26, 2013 BY HARLEQUIN TEEN

WHY I CAN’T WAIT…

I loved the first the three books from the series. Namely, The Goddess Test, Goddess Interrupted and The Goddess Legacy. Honestly, when I read books I simply have to see it through to the end even if I didn't like them very much to begin with. And as I have mentioned I love this series especially Ms. Carter's take on the Greek Gods. I just want to know how it all ends.
